N-Hydroxyethylphthalimide(NHEPI) is mainly used in the following fields:
Pharmaceutical intermediates:
NHEPI is a key intermediate for the production of the cardiovascular drug amlodipine besylate. In addition, it is also used to prepare the anti schistosomiasis drug furanidiamide and the broad-spectrum quinolone antibacterial drug sitagliptin.
Dye and pigment:
As a core additive in chemical fiber dyeing process, NHEPI can be used in combination with mixed solution to enhance dye activity and dyeing uniformity, and is widely used in the textile industry. Its white crystalline powder characteristics make it excellent in hard water softening treatment, effectively reducing staining spots.
