Application

N-Methylaniline is an organic compound mainly used in the fields of pesticides, dyes, rubber additives, gasoline anti knock agents, and organic synthesis. ‌
Pesticide field:
N-methylaniline is a key raw material for the production of insecticides such as thiacloprid, which is safe for natural enemies of pests and is commonly used to control pests such as rice planthoppers. In addition, herbicides (such as methyl herbicide) and fungicides (such as aniline herbicide) using N-methylaniline as raw material have been developed abroad. ‌
Dyestuff industry:
In dye production, N-methylaniline is used to manufacture cationic dye intermediates (such as N-methyl-N-Benzylaniline, N-methyl-N-hydroxyethylaniline) and directly generate cationic dyes such as Brilliant Red FG, Cationic Peach Red B, and Reactive Yellow Brown KGR, which are suitable for dyeing fibers such as nylon and polyester. ‌
Rubber additive:
N-Methylaniline can be used to prepare rubber additive ZMPC (methylbenzene) for improving rubber properties. ‌
Gasoline antiknock:
By increasing the octane rating of gasoline, N-methylaniline can enhance the combustion efficiency of gasoline.
