p-Cresol is an organic compound widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, pesticide and other fields, with main applications including:
Pharmaceutical field:
p-Cresol is an important intermediate in the synthesis of various drugs, used in the production of antifungal drugs, local anesthetics, and disinfectants.
Pesticide field:
As an intermediate in pesticides, p-Cresol is involved in the synthesis of pyrethroid pesticides (such as sulfonamide ether, permethrin, etc.) and used in the production of fungicides and herbicides.
Spices and food processing:
p-Cresol, as an edible spice, imparts a smoky herbal aroma to food while also possessing antibacterial and anti mold properties. P-Cresol is involved in the preparation of spice components such as coumarin and methyl benzoate.
Resin and plastic:
