Rubber industry:
The resin generated by the condensation of resorcinol and formaldehyde (RF resin) is a key adhesive for tire cords, hoses, and tapes, which can enhance the adhesion between fibers and rubber, and has outstanding water resistance and room temperature curing characteristics. ‌‌
Plastic and resin modification:
Resorcinol is used for the modification of phenolic and urea formaldehyde resins to accelerate curing and enhance water resistance; Its derivatives can be used as non halogenated flame retardants and are suitable for thermoplastic materials such as polycarbonate and ABS. ‌‌
