1.Raw materials for spandex synthesis reaction:

Tetrahydrofuran can self condense (through cation initiated ring opening and re polymerization) to form polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG). PTMEG and toluene diisocyanate (TDI) are used to make special rubber with wear resistance, oil resistance, good low-temperature performance, and high strength; Made of block polyether polyester elastic material with dimethyl terephthalate and 1,4-butanediol. PTMEG with a relative molecular weight of 2000 and para methylene bis (4-phenyl) diisocyanate (MDI) are used as raw materials for polyurethane elastic fibers (spandex, spandex fibers), special rubber, and some special purpose coatings. The main use of THF is for producing PTMEG, which is mainly used for producing elastic spandex fibers.

2.Solvents with excellent performance:

Tetrahydrofuran is a commonly used excellent solvent, especially suitable for dissolving PVC, polyvinylidene chloride, and butylamine. It is widely used as a solvent for surface coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, printing inks, magnetic tapes, and thin film coatings. When used in electroplating aluminum solution, the thickness of the aluminum layer can be controlled arbitrarily and it is bright. Tape coating, PVC surface coating, cleaning of PVC reactor, removal of PVC film, cellophane coating, plastic printing ink, thermoplastic polyurethane coating, adhesive solvent, widely used in surface coatings, protective coatings, inks, extractants and surface treatment agents for synthetic leather.

3.Raw materials for organic synthesis such as pharmaceuticals:

Used for the production of tetrahydrothiophene, 1,4-Dichloroethane, 2,3-Dichlorotetrahydrofuran, Pentolactone, Butyrolactone, and Pyrrolidone. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to synthesize Kebiqing, Rifamycin, progesterone, and some hormone drugs. After hydrogen sulfide treatment, tetrahydrothiophenol is generated, which can be used as a odorant (identification additive) in fuel gas and is also the main solvent in the pharmaceutical industry.
