Application
1.In pesticide production, Salicylic acid is used to synthesize Isocarbophos(organophosphorus pesticide), Isopropyl salicylate(intermediate of methyl isocarbophos), Warfarin(rodenticide) and 4-Hydroxycoumarin(intermediate of warfarin).
2.In the pharmaceutical industry, in addition to being used as a disinfectant and preservative, salicylic acid's sodium salt can be used for antipyretic, anti rheumatic, analgesic, and other purposes. It also serves as an intermediate for various of drugs such as acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin).
3.Salicylic acid is used as an anti coking agent and in the production of ultraviolet absorbers and foaming agents in the rubber industry.
4.Salicylic acid is used as an additive in some weakly acidic electrolytes and as a complexing agent for electroplating or chemical plating.
5.Salicylic acid, as a preservative in cosmetics, is mainly used in water-based cosmetics such as toilet water, prickly heat water, and quinine shampoo. In addition to its anti-corrosion and bactericidal effects, it also has functions such as dispelling sweat and odor, relieving itching and swelling, and relieving pain and inflammation.
6.Salicylic acid is used as an accelerator for epoxy resin curing.
