Fluorescent brightener 85 (CAS:12224-06-5) is an important fluorescent whitening agent.

Its main applications including:

1. Primary whitening agent for cotton, linen, silk, wool, and viscose textiles; used for fabric whitening, brightening, and reserve printing.
2. Fluorescent brightener 85 is pplied in paper manufacturing (pulp internal, coating, surface sizing) to improve paper whiteness and print appearance.
3. Fluorescent brightener 85 is used in laundry detergents, household cleaners, and plastic products to enhance whiteness and visual brightness.

1. Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry, dark area at 2–8°C to prevent moisture absorption, caking, and photodegradation of stilbene-based fluorescent structure.
2. Keep containers fully closed to avoid exposure to air and strong light, which may reduce whitening efficiency and cause discoloration.
3. Store separately from cationic surfactants, cationic dyes, strong oxidants, and acidic substances; avoid mixing with synthetic resin precondensates.
