Characteristics

Calcium carbide often contains impurities such as phosphorus and sulfur, and reacts with water to release toxic gases such as phosphine and hydrogen sulfide. When the content of phosphine exceeds 0.08% and the content of hydrogen sulfide exceeds 0.15%, it is easy to cause spontaneous combustion and explosion. Its powder is irritating to the eyes and respiratory organs, and can cause skin burns.
Storage
It should be stored in a cool, ventilated, and dry place, where water leakage is not allowed.
