1,4-Benzoquinone is an important organic compound mainly used as an oxidant, polymerization inhibitor, dye, and pharmaceutical intermediate, and is widely used in rubber, chemical, pharmaceutical and other fields.
Main purposes:
Oxidizing and dehydrogenating agents:

Due to its easy reduction to hydroquinone, 1,4-Benzoquinone is often used as an oxidizing reagent in organic synthesis reactions, such as selective oxidation of allyl alcohol and catalytic alcohol dehydrogenation reactions. In the palladium acetate catalytic system, it also serves as a co oxidant to maintain the catalytic cycle. ‌‌
Polymer inhibitor:
In the polymer industry, 1,4-Benzoquinone is used to inhibit the polymerization of monomers such as styrene and vinyl acetate, and its polymerization inhibition effect is better than that of hydroquinone, with better heat resistance. ‌‌
Dyes and pharmaceutical intermediates:
