N,N-Dimethylbenzylamine(BDMA) is a multifunctional organic compound mainly used in the following fields:
Polyurethane industry:
As a catalyst, BDMA can significantly improve the fluidity, cell uniformity and adhesion with the substrate of polyurethane foam, especially for hard foam production.
Epoxy resin:
As a curing accelerator, BDMA can accelerate the anhydride curing reaction, with a dosage of 0.5% -1% of epoxy resin. It is widely used in electronic sealing materials, ship paints, etc.
Organic synthesis:
In drug synthesis, BDMA can catalyze the dehydrohalogenation reaction; Simultaneously serving as an acidic neutralizing agent, it participates in the synthesis of compounds such as quaternary ammonium salts.
Other applications:
Preservative: BDMA is used for metal rust prevention.
Biocide: BDMA produces cationic surfactants.
