1-Ethylimidazole(CAS:7098-07-9) is mainly used for the following purposes:
Epoxy resin curing agent:
1-Ethylimidazole can be used as latent curing agent or accelerator for epoxy resins,. and widely used in electronic packaging materials, potting adhesives, structural adhesives. It can effectively improve curing speed, thermal stability, and mechanical properties, and can be compounded with anhydride and amine curing agents to regulate curing behavior.
Organic synthesis intermediates:
1-Ethylimidazole is key intermediate for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and dyes.
Ionic liquid precursor:
1-Ethylimidazole can be used as cationic component to prepare imidazole ionic liquids.
Metal corrosion inhibitor:
1-Ethylimidazole is used as metal corrosion inhibitor in rust inhibitors and anti-corrosion systems.

1-Ethylimidazole should be stored in a tightly sealed container in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep N-Ethylimidazole strictly away from strong oxidizing agents and store in a well-ventilated area
