2-Isopropylimidazole(CAS:36947-68-9) is mainly used as below:

1. 2-Isopropylimidazole is primarily used as curing agent and accelerator for epoxy resins, providing excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and mechanical properties in coatings, adhesives and composite materials .
2. 2-lsopropylimidazole serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical compounds, antifungal agents, and biologically active molecules .
3. 2-Isopropylimidazole is employed as a corrosion inhibitor in metalworking fluids and as a component in the production of polyurethane foams .
4. 2-lsopropylimidazole is utilized in research for the development of ionic liquids, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and as a ligand in coordination chemistry .

2-Isopropylimidazole should be stored in a cool, ventilated and dry warehouse, away from fire and heat sources, and protected from heat, moisture, water, and sun. It should be handled with care during transportation to prevent packaging damage and kept sealed.
